Young Nephrologists Activities

The ISN is committed to developing the next generation of global leaders in nephrology. WCN Melbourne provides a fantastic opportunity to meet colleagues from around the world and establish global networks of collaboration to fight kidney disease.

Meet the ISN Young Nephrologists Committee at the ISN Booth at the WCN Exhibition to learn about our activities, our programs, and the YNC Workshop that we organize annually. You will have the opportunity to meet one or two of our members, who will inform you about the different activities that ISN offers for a young doctor like YOU.

We are preparing several initiatives focused on YN during the WCN:

Stay with the young nephrologists

When booking your stay for the WCN, why not consider booking an affordable hotel, well located, and where other YN will also be staying? The nominated Young Nephrologists hotel will be the Batman's Hill on Collins hotel, and you can book it through the same booking form as the rest of the hotels. There are limited beds, so don’t miss this great opportunity for networking with other young participants like you!

Young nephrologists networking evening

Saturday after the sessions, join us at the YN nominated hotel Batman’s Hill on Collins to share a drink with the Young Nephrologist Committee, with other young nephrologists, and with some of the leaders of ISN.

Poster tour

Join us on our daily Poster Tour focusing on the best posters from young nephrologists and others.

Visits to hospital units

We are exploring the possibility to organize visits to the Nephrology Units in one or more hospitals, to observe how they work and learn from different ways of practicing. Would you be interested in this activity? Please let us know by filling in this online form . Once the feasibility of this idea is confirmed, we will inform about how to join these visits.

More information about the Young Nephrologists Committee

In early 2007, the ISN created the Young Nephrologists Committee (YNC) to help better engage its talented younger members in shaping the future of the Society. The mission of the YNC is to evaluate and understand the needs of young physicians and scientists in order to develop education, research, professional development and leadership opportunities within the Society tailored specifically to their needs. The Committee consists of a core group of members, representing the various geographic regions of the ISN. Members of the group develop coherent programs of activities designed to speak to all early career stage nephrologists currently in the ISN (approximately one third of the society's membership), as well as to attract new junior nephrologists to the society.
