WCN 2019 will focus on glomerulonephritis, and on integrated end-stage kidney disease, and covers all topics relevant to global and Asia Pacific nephrology.

The program explores in detail the scientific and clinical aspects of these topics. Hands-on courses, before the scientific program begins, will offer access to international medical expertise in kidney care and research, from bench to bedside.

The International Society of Nephrology (ISN) is a philanthropic organization dedicated to advancing worldwide kidney health. We bridge the gaps of available care through advocacy and collaborations with our global partners. We build capacity with healthcare professionals via granting programs, education and research. By connecting communities, we develop a stronger understanding of how to manage kidney diseases and engage in a collaborative effort to improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

Our overarching purpose is to tackle the global burden of acute kidney injury (AKI), chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage kidney disease (ESKD), improving patient care through an interconnected advocacy, education and research strategy. For more information, visit the ISN Website.

ISN takes its commitment to dissemination of new knowledge seriously and, as such, streamed live “Late Breaking Clinical Trials” from the WCN. The purpose of this session was to give the worldwide nephrology community in-depth understanding of the rationale, execution and results of these 3 major nephrology studies: CREDENCE, SONAR and ACTIVE.

The Late Breaking Clinical Trials session was streamed live from WCN 2019 on April 15, 2019 at 08:30 am (Melbourne, AEST).

World Congress of Nephrology

ISN’s biennial World Congress of Nephrology (WCN) is the premiere international educational event in nephrology, which rotates between continents and is organized in collaboration with local and regional nephrology societies. It is targeted at the international nephrology community as well as other healthcare professionals involved in multidisciplinary kidney care. WCN enables professionals from all parts of the world to exchange views on a wide variety of topics relevant to nephrology and it supports ISN's mission of building a future where all people have equitable access to sustainable kidney health.

This is the first time a large international nephrology meeting will focus on glomerulonephritis, and on intergrated end-stage kidney disease as well as issues with relevance to the Asia Pacific region.

Join the ISN WCN 2019 in Melbourne from April 12 to 15, 2019.
