The World Congress of Nephrology 2019 (WCN 2019) is an International Society of Nephrology (ISN) event hosted by the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nephrology (ANZSN) and the Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology (APSN).
International Society of Nephrology (ISN)
The International Society of Nephrology (ISN) is a philanthropic organization dedicated to advancing worldwide kidney health. We bridge the gaps of available care through advocacy and collaborations with our global partners. We build capacity with healthcare professionals via granting programs, education and research. By connecting communities, we develop a stronger understanding of how to manage kidney diseases and engage in a collaborative effort to improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
With over 10,000 professional members from over 150 countries, the ISN represents a wide international network and an efficient platform for timely scientific exchange, debate and communication between healthcare professionals involved in preventing and treating kidney disease. By collaborating with more than 100 national and regional societies, we reach out to an additional 30,000 health professionals globally.
Our overarching purpose is to tackle the global burden of acute kidney injury (AKI), chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage kidney disease (ESKD), improving patient care through an interconnected advocacy, education and research strategy.
Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology (APSN)
The Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology aims to promote and encourage the advancement of scientific knowledge and research in all aspects of nephrology, and to promote the exchange and dissemination of this knowledge in the Asian-Pacific area. All major regional national societies of nephrology are either sponsoring societies or affiliated societies of APSN. It has close links with the International Society of Nephrology (ISN).
The APSN aims to cater specifically for the needs of the nephrology community throughout the region, especially fostering the development of high quality nephrology in the less well developed countries of the region.
