Invitation to the congress

ISN’s biennial World Congress of Nephrology (WCN) is the premier educational event in nephrology which rotates between continents and is organized in collaboration with local and regional nephrology societies. The congress is targeted to the international nephrology community as well as other healthcare professionals involved in multidisciplinary nephrology care, thus enabling professionals from all parts of the world to exchange views on a wide variety of topics affecting nephrology and those suffering from kidney disease around the world.

By bringing together practicing clinicians, academics, scientists, international health authorities and clinical researchers, each Congress offers a unique global forum for a free exchange of science and medical strategy and is aligned with local and regional reflections under the overall congress themes.

WCN aims to advance the education of clinicians and other professionals, support the development of kidney research, and facilitate the delivery of high-quality healthcare worldwide. Since ISN’s first congress in 1960, WCN has provided vital guidance and support to the advance of nephrology around the world.

This edition of the World Congress will not only deliver the most recent innovations but also state-of-the-art knowledge that is relevant and adapted to kidney care practice throughout the world where delegates benefit from practical, practice-changing and concrete takeaways. It will feature a ground-breaking program with world renowned faculty, authoritative and innovative keynote lectures, scientific theme tracks, industry lunch symposia, poster sessions, an integrated industry exhibition, and last but not least magnificent social networking events full of culture and culinary delights.

Some unique innovative features will strengthen this WCN. We have carefully considered the evaluations from delegates of previous congresses and have already made two major advances which will be followed by many others. We have decided to move to a paperless Congress. We will pay special attention to include all information found previously in print proceedings on the various communication tools such as the Congress App, the Congress website, signage throughout the Congress Centre etc….Another innovation will be much appreciated by delegates interested in attending WCN Courses; these will now occur pre congress avoid conflict with the exciting sessions of the main WCN Scientific Program.

On behalf of the International Society of Nephrology (ISN, the Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology (APSN) and the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nephrology (ANZSN), we are pleased to invite you to participate in the 2019 World Congress of Nephrology.
